I am a senior analyst at the European Union Institute for Security Studies and former Director of the Institute of International Relations. I studied international relations at the University of Cambridge and at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University. My professional focus is on Russia, the EU's Eastern neighbourhood and European security, as well as on revolutionary violence, global trends and their predictions. I am currently a member of the Social Sciences expert panel of the Research, Development and Innovation Council of the Czech Republic (RVVI) and the Council of the Oriental Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences.
