About us

The database is the property of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University. Its latest update was made possible thanks to Charles University SIGMA grant with its principal investigator, Ms Hana Kubátová. The project thus follows on the faculty’s long-term systematic effort to reinforce the infrastructure for the socio-scientific research while at the same time promoting the visibility of experts and specialists in the Czech public space.

The database has been designed as an open source for all researchers in the field of social sciences and humanities. Those who wish to register can do so themselves, using their ORCID identifier which ensures the verifiability and basic standardization of their expert profiles. The aim of the database is to provide a clear, well-arranged, safe and professional space where researchers can present themselves, their expert skills and where they can be easily found by journalists, institutions and the rest of professional public.

The Faculty of Social Sciences is among the youngest and the most dynamic faculties at Charles University. It comprises five institutes which together cover the key socio-scientific fields – economics, communication studies and journalism, international studies, sociology and political science. The faculty offers a wide range of educational programmes and provides a first-rate environment in which to carry out socio-scientific research. Its academic staff systematically keep developing the theory, methodology as well as empirical research across the main social sciences areas, and actively contribute to shaping expert and public debate in the Czech Republic.
