Jan Hruška je postdoktorandem na Univerzitě Adama Mickiewicze v Poznani, kde se věnuje výzkumu demokratických inovací. Doktorské studium ukončil na Masarykově univerzitě v říjnu 2024. Absolvoval studijní a výzkumné pobyty na Univerzitě v Boloni a na University College London, kde získal Bracewell Scholarship. Publikoval v odborných časopisech European Political Science Review, The Journal of Legislative Studies, Territory, Politics, Governance i v dalších recenzovaných periodikách. Ve svém výzkumu se dále zaměřuje na demokratickou resilienci, institucionální důvěru a legitimitu, horní komory parlamentů a politiku střední a východní Evropy.
